Alumni Basketball Game:
January 28, 2010
What a great day! SVC hoops stars from '95 through '03 were back on campus to reconnect, watch our current team, and then go head to head for 40 minutes of exciting, non-stop fun! Standing at one end of the court the alumni turned to each other and asked, "Was the court always this long?!"
Kevin Lavigne '95, Jeff Burke '96, Raphael Salazar '97, Troy Alfred '99, Chris Davis '99, Charles Beekman '02, Jason Vautour '02 and Drew Santandera '03 were joined by Provost Al DeCiccio and Mountaineer fan Dan Hier for an amazing display of athleticism and camaraderie. They were divvied up into Green versus Gold teams, and at the end of the game the final score was 100 to 99. Sounds as if everyone won!
The game was followed by an after party at JC's where the players had a chance to catch up with each other. Sean Brown '96 was unable to make it in time for the game, but team members were delighted he could join them at the party.
The award for the best-timed absence goes to Everett Williams '94 who decided to pass on this year's game because his pregnant wife was approaching her due date. To make a long story short, Journey Everett Williams arrived that day! He's 7 lbs., 9 oz., absolutely adorable, and expects to start training for next year's game just as soon as he can sleep through the night!
Thanks to everyone who made this such a fun event. We look forward to seeing you again next year, if not before!
