Southern Vermont Transitions to SVCathletics.com
ROCKVILLE, Md. - Southern Vermont College, an NCAA Division III independent beginning play in the New England Collegiate Conference next season, has partnered with PrestoSports for an innovative new athletics web site. Members of the Southern Vermont athletics staff and PrestoSports have embarked on the design process for the new home of the Mountaineers. 2008 SVC Summer Camps!
A wide variety of sports camps are offered every summer at Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont. Directed by Southern Vermont College coaches with NCAA Division III experience, each camp provides instruction on sport fundamentals and skill development. 2007-2008 SVC Athletics Sports Banquet Winners
Bennington, VT—Senior men’s basketball player Nick Harrington and freshman women’s volleyball, softball, and women’s basketball player Julia Fagan won the male and female Sportsperson of the Year at the revamped annual Southern Vermont College Athletics Banquet held last night in the SVC Field House. Harrington Named Top Vermont Athlete

SVC Hires Catania as Head Cross Country Coach
Joe Catania became part of the SVC community in March of 2008. He was hired as the head men’s & women’s cross country coach and the Director of Compliance. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience at all educational levels. He has coached Olympic trial and NCAA Championship qualifiers. Harrington Profiled in Sports Illustrated
Bennington, VT—Senior Southern Vermont College men’s basketball forward Nick Harrington (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) was honored in Sports Illustrated (SI) for his achievements this season. Two Student-Athletes Take Unusual Spring Break
Bennington, VT—The baseball team will be traveling to Florida. Other students will either go home or find a nice sunny spot on the beach somewhere in the south. 2008 SVC Baseball Season Preview
The times are changing for Southern Vermont College baseball. First year head coach Don Schaffer’s plans on bringing a new mindset to the diamond. The one challenge is that all of the pitchers in the starting rotation also figure to be regular position players. Resting the arms of the starters, while keeping their bats in the lineup at Designated Hitter should probably be the answer.
