Rugby Teams Complete Second Varsity Season
The Southern Vermont College Rugby teams, after completing their second year as varsity sports and many more years as men's and women's club sports, have become a tradition at the College. The teams' aggressive, hard-hitting style have brought the attention of many community supporters, faculty, and students. Sanctioned teams recognized by NERFU (New England Rugby Football Union), the Mountaineers are assertively and aggressively seeking a championship style, already defeating and impressing teams outside their Division. Rugby is a sport based on an intense fight for the ball through a series of moves called rucks, mauls, and scrums.
