Orientation

It's important to start your Southern Vermont College experience with the right information and the right support.  That's why all new students to Southern Vermont College, both traditional and nontraditional, are required to attend the New Student Orientation program prior to the start of their first semester.  During this three- or four-day program, residential students will have an opportunity to settle into their housing assignment, and all new students will have the opportunity to meet faculty and staff, learn about their academic program from their faculty advisor, become familiar with the facilities and services offered at the College, and meet fellow classmates.  Our goal is to have all of your questions answered and all of the required processes complete so that you can start classes on time and with all of the support that you need to be successful.

New Student Orientation for the fall semester begins on the Friday before the first day of classes.  Orientation for the spring semester will begin on the Monday prior to the start of classes.

Orientation can make the difference between a difficult start and a great start to your college experience. The staff and faculty at Southern Vermont College are committed to making your start a great one. If you have any questions about New Student Orientation or the First-Year Experience Program, contact the Director of Student Involvement & Leadership at campuslife@svc.edu.
