Community Advisors
What Does a Community Advisor (CA) Do?
- Act as a resource for residents living on campus.
- Plan educational and recreational programs to help enhance the College education outside the classroom.
- Receive training to enhance communication and mediation skills.
- Develop leadership and time-management skills.
- Interact and work with a diverse group of people.
- Build strong friendships with staff members and residents.
About the Position
- All freshman, sophomore, or junior undergraduate students who maintain a 2.5 GPA or greater are eligible to apply for the position.
- CAs go through a two-phase selection process and are chosen based upon experience, willingness, and ability to help others, and ability to act as a resource to the entire College community.
- The CA's primary concerns are the safety and well-being of the resident students.
- CAs receive free room, discounted meal plan and local phone service as compensation.
