Spring Classes for Career Advancement and Enrichment
Southern Vermont College (SVC) will be offering a variety of interesting courses during the Spring 2018 semester that are beneficial for any learner. Led by professors who are masters of engaged learning, classes start Tuesday, January 16, on subjects in arts and music, the environment, healthcare, business, sports management, psychology, criminal justice, and politics.
High school juniors and seniors are encouraged to consider taking classes at a reduced rate or they may qualify for two free courses through SVC’s Dual Enrollment options.
The Division of Business offerings include Accounting Fundamentals, Digital Marketing, Healthcare Insurance, Healthcare Law, Introduction to Sports Management, Marketing Fundamentals, Foundations of Economics (online), and Sports Law.
The Division of Humanities is offering American Sign Language II, American Visions-African American Art, Band, Choir, Editing and Publication Design, English Composition I and II, Environmental Literature, Fiction (online), Jazz History, Journalism Production, The Novel: An Exploration (online), and Watercolor Painting.
The Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics includes Anatomy and Physiology I (with lab), Astrobiology, General Biology II (with lab), General Physics II, Introductory Algebra, Life in the Universe, Linear Algebra, Medical Microbiology (with lab), Organic Chemistry II (with lab), Sociobiology, Statistical Methods, and Topics in Environmental Issues.
The Division of Social Sciences will be offering Contemporary Topics: White Collar Crime, Ethics in the Helping Professions, Forensic Science, Interviewing Skills and Case Management, Introduction to History and Political Science, Latin American History and Politics, and Psychology.
Within the Division of Nursing and Health Services, courses are available in the Nursing Program and Radiologic Sciences Program.
